Like many travelers, Dutch couple Wouter and Sophie had a big dream. After sooo many years of exploring the world, something was urging them to take the next step. It was time to open their very own hostel!
In 2017, Poco a Poco Hostel opened its doors in the beautiful city of Leon, Nicaragua. What started as a fun project for the two of them unexpectedly turned into one of the best-rated hostels in the world.
Poco a Poco Hostel has been awarded the title of Best Hostel in Nicaragua for four years now. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff and lovely guests!
QUALITY
It has always been our mission to give our guests the best possible experience on a backpacker’s budget. Sometimes, it even feels like a backpacker hotel.
We truly care about our hostel, our staff, and our guests. Because of this, our hostel project is never 100% complete. By talking to guests and staff, we always find something to improve or maintain.
Our latest updates include new mattresses and modern bunk beds in most of the rooms. We believe our best addition is the swimming pool in the center of the hostel. We’ve also added a bar area for you to enjoy.

The afternoon version with many extra's, but most of all an amazing sunset and campfire! For $35.
ALL-IN
All day tour with all the extra's. The big highlight here is that you will end your tour at the beach, play some volleyball and enjoy an amazing sunset. For $35
